Obituary for Jerilyn M. "Jeri" Gallant

Jerilyn M. “Jeri” Gallant
Sanford, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan

Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the late evening hours of Sunday, May 14, 2023. Age 80 years. Jeri was born on October 22, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Steven and Lorraine (Harrington) Mendel. She was a 1960 graduate of Saginaw High School. In December 1961, Jeri married the love of her life, David Gallant, and he preceded her in death. Jeri was employed at Saginaw County for 18 years until her retirement. Jeri and Dave lived in Saginaw for many years and then moved to their retirement home in Sanford, Michigan. She was a longtime member of St. Dominic Parish in Saginaw and a current member of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Sanford. Lovingly known as “Grandma Drives A Lot”, Jeri enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren events throughout her life. She also enjoyed her weekly outings and lunches with her sister. Jeri was known to watch the Hallmark Channel. Her most cherished memories, however, were the times that she spent with her family.

Surviving are three daughters, two sons and their spouses, Marie and Dale Western, Joyce and Dan Bobolts, Lynda and Gregg Blake, Ed Gallant, Frank and Annette Gallant; six grandchildren, Alexandria (Alex Tongue) Western, Kyle (Keri) Bobolts, Patrick (Nicolette) Bobolts, Danielle Blake, Victoria (Sam) Orlando and Emily Gallant; four great grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Katie) Mendel; a sister, Judy Konsdorf; a sister-in-law, Kathy Mendel; several nieces and nephews. Jeri is happily reunited with her husband, David; parents, Steven and Lorraine Mendel; brother, Michael Mendel and brother-in-law Raymond Konsdorf.
