Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend of many passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Covenant HealthCare Harrison. Age 49 years. Son of Barbara (Ruhlig) Schaefer and the late Gary Schaefer, Jeffrey was born April 27, 1971 in Saginaw, Michigan. Jeffrey was an assistant manager at Dollar General in Freeland. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. Jeffrey enjoyed music, fishing, playing cards and loved the weather and was a weather spotter.
Surviving besides his mother Barbara are three brothers, Ronald and Krista Schaefer, Freeland; Scott and Dana Schaefer, Bay City; Eric Schaefer and his fiancé, Jaime Kline, Shields; a niece, Rhiannon Schaefer, Bay City; a nephew Brenden Schaefer, Bay City; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog JoJo.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate with a private burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials for the family wishes.
