Jean Kehrer
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 78 years. The daughter of the late James and Anna (Albosta) Kerr, Jean was born November 14, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1960 and earned her Bachelors of Education at Aquinas College. Jean married John E. Kehrer, her loving husband of 56 years, on August 14, 1965 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. He survives her. Jean taught elementary school at St. Andrew School. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where she served as a greeter. Jean volunteered over 800 hours with Pastoral Care at Covenant Medical Center. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and loved playing bridge.
Surviving besides her husband John are one daughter and two sons, Denise and Rob Wesley, Westerville, Ohio; Craig J. Kehrer, Baroda, Michigan; Scott and Kristen Kehrer, Lake Orion, Michigan; six grandchildren, Elise Wesley, Ian Wesley, Katherine (Kate) Kehrer, Zachary (Zak) Kehrer, Allison (Alli) Kehrer and Ava Kehrer; several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Kerr.
Jean’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Edgewood Assisted Living and the Hospice Care Team for their loving and compassionate care for past several years.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Interment will take place 12:00 noon Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery, Higgins Lake, Michigan. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Family and friends will pray the Rosary 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary School or the Hospice Care Team.
