Jean Frances (Barden) Bauman
Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, April 8, 2022 in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 95 years. Jean Frances (Barden) Bauman was born February 15, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Leo E. and Margaret (Grohman) Barden. Jean was a trained vocal-soloist and sang in the SS. Peter and Paul and St. Andrew choirs and also for weddings and other social functions. On May 31, 1947 she married William A. (Bill) Bauman and they were blessed with 64-years together until Bill’s passing on March 11, 2011.Their children are: Michael (Sandra) Bauman, Saginaw; Thomas (Claudia) Bauman, Frankfort, IL.; Joanne (John) Roberts, Saginaw. Eight Grandchildren: Mark Bauman( fiancé Stefanie) Kawkawlin, MI.; Andrew (Vanny) Bauman, Seattle, WA.; Benjamin (Kate) Bauman, San Antonio, TX.; Katie (Will) Schubert, Frankfort, IL.; Heidi (Lee) Foster, Orlando, FL.; Gretchen (Brandon) Parsons, St. Charles, MI.; Robert Rosin II, Cleveland, OH.; Kristen (Thomas) Prosser, Saginaw, MI.; Two Step-Grandsons: John Roberts II, New Albany, IN.; Kyle (Nicole) Roberts, Bay City, MI.; Eleven Great- Grandchildren: Annika &William Foster, Joseph & Zeke Schubert, Aaron & Reid Bauman, William & Henry& Elizabeth Bauman, Charles Parsons and Kyle Jr. Roberts. Jean was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, its Retiree’s Club, Funeral Luncheon Team and Prayer Line. Jean was also a member of the League of Catholic Women, Knights of Columbus #4232 Ladies Auxiliary, its Retiree’s Club and the DAV/ Auxiliary. She was a Past President of the Deanery Council of Catholic Women. She had been employed by The Saginaw News, UHL Secretarial Services, The Township Times, and retired from the Catholic Cemeteries. Pre-deceasing her besides her husband and parents are sisters Marilyn (Ralph) Furlo, Rosemary (Howard ) Merriell, and brothers Robert Barden, Gerald (Dorothy) Barden and Joseph C. Barden. She is survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Barden of Ann Arbor, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jean loved to sing, dance, read, do crosswords, play Euchre, but most of all she felt blessed spending time with family and friends.


Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd. Interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
