Beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 27, 2022. Age 61 years. The son of the late Floyd “Flitz” and Joan (Boeheim) Shaddeau, Jay was born June 5, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan. He resided in Grand Rapids 1988 to 2013, before moving back to Saginaw, Michigan. In high school Jay was a basketball star; his love of basketball and all things sports lasted long after high school. He was an avid sportsman enjoying golf, football, baseball, and hockey. Jay is praised for his amazing golf skills and after high school he joined the twenty-one golf club. Jay got his “hole-in-one” in 2018. His love of sports was shared with his grandsons, going to watch sporting events at the Civic Center. He enjoyed watching WWE. Jay also appreciated the times where he got to sit with friends and share a beer. He also loved to play poker and euchre. He worked for many years at Menards. He was and will forever be an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, and friend.


Surviving besides his daughter, Kayla (Jacob Clapper) Moore, Sparta are his three grandsons, Caiden and Clayton Moore and Parker Jay Clapper; his long time significant other, Diana Kundinger, Saginaw; his brother Michael Shaddeau, Saginaw; his sister, Jane (Mark) Hess, Rockford; his nieces and nephews, Erik (Whitney) Shaddeau, Gabrielle (Joe) Hankins, and James (Noey) Doman; and many cherished friends.


Honoring Jay’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to his grandchildren’s education fund.
