Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 81 years. Son of the late Chester and Irene (Rytlewski) Wisniewski, James was born August 2, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of V.F.W. Post #1859 and American Legion Post #439. James married Helen S. Bese, his loving wife of 50 years, on August 4, 1972. She survives him. James was an electrician at General Motors for 44 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and the Moose. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowled a 300 game and especially his family.
Surviving besides his wife Helen are two sons, James Robert and Johanna Wisniewski, Ledyard, Connecticut; Andrew and Victoria Wisniewski, Royal Oak, Michigan; five grandchildren, Eleanor, Brynn, Ava, Porter and Andrew “AJ”; and extended family.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Entombment will take place in St. Andrew Mausoleum with Military Services conducted by the U.S. Air Force and V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Church or Wounded Warriors Project.
