Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 Age 82 years. The son of the late Herbert and Helen (Graham) Lelo, Jim was born August 13, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Regina Kosiara on Sept. 18, 1965. She predeceased him on December 28, 2020. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1957. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from Ferris Institute (later Ferris State University) in 1962. Jim was employed at Gratiot Community Hospital as manager of the pharmacy for 33 years until his retirement in 2002. After his retirement he worked at Freeland Pharmacy at Pat’s Food Center in Freeland. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are one son, Greg and Cathy Lelo, Freeland; two grandchildren, Nicole and fiancé Nicholas Billette, and Jonathan; one brother, Walter and Roxanne Lelo; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Lelo and Marilyn Lelo; several nieces and nephews; his fur-grand-babies, Rosie and Brody. Jim was preceded in death by a twin brother, Jack Lelo, his brother, Herbert Lelo.

Jim’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of New Hope Valley West, Elara Hospice and DaVita Dialysis Clinic for their loving and compassionate care.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. For those that wish to attend the Mass remotely, please use the following link beginning at 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday https://vimeo.com/event/844336. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Vanderbilt, Michigan at a later date in June. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw City Rescue Mission.
