Saginaw, Michigan.
Loving mother and grandmother passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at Wellspring Assisted Living. Age 97 years. Daughter of the late Theodore and Veronika (Michal) Murin, Irene was born March 28, 1926 in Owosso, Michigan. She was married to Vincent J. Waier on October 2, 1954. He predeceased her September 1, 2004. Irene was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She enjoyed swimming, walking and gardening and spending time with her coffee group.
Surviving are one son, Edward and Brenda Waier, Grand Blanc; three grandchildren, Morgan Waier, Saginaw; Madison Waier, Grand Blanc; Jacob Waier, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joe and Stephen Murin.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or your favorite Veterans Organization.
