Obituary for Helen C. Kubiak

Helen C. Kubiak,
Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Casimira (Straty) Wydra, Helen was born October 21, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Richard J. Kubiak on July 2, 1955. He predeceased her March 19, 1990. Helen was a member of St. John Paul II Parish, its Rosary Society, its Senior Club and the League of Catholic Women. She was employed at Lufkin Rule Company and an Avon Representative for many years. Helen was a member of the Brothers of Kosciuszko Pulaski Club Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary and owned a cottage up at the American Legion at Higgins Lake. Helen enjoyed Polka dancing, sewing but most of all, spending time with family.

Surviving are three sons, three daughters and their spouses, David and Sandra Kubiak, Saginaw; Janet and Robert Korkus, Saginaw; Daniel and Celeste Kubiak, Houghton Lake; Joanne and Michael Noack, Freeland; Rosanne and Joseph Maxwell, Midland; Ronald and Tara Kubiak, Freeland; 19 grandchildren, Eric (Jessica), Kalie (Dave), Kris, Lisa and her fiancé Greg, Richard, Marie, Christa (Brandon), Nick (Paula), Joel, Nathan, Neil, Mitchell (Kayla), Rachel, Taylor and her fiancé Donnie, Michael (Whitney), Edward, Collin, Parker and Max; fourteen great-grandchildren, Carter, Norah, Brody, Kai, Dakota, Mason, Behrett, Charlotte, Aleksander, Lucas, Abram, Maxwell, Brody, Ava, and an angel on the way; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wydra; several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by an infant sister, Rosemary Wydra; one brother, Joseph Wydra; and her sister, Mary (John) Ankoviak.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023 at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Josaphat Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John Paul II Parish, Heart to Heart Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
