Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at Barton Woods Assisted Living. Age 83 years. Daughter of the late George and Zelda (Sproul) Harris, Gwendolyn was born November 12, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Kenneth L. Winiecke on August 15, 1963. He predeceased her December 1, 2005. Gwendolyn was employed at Dr. Quarters Office for many years as an office assistant. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Zilwaukee, a member of Zilwaukee Lioness and active in the community. Gwendolyn enjoyed bowling, traveling, the casinos and especially her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are one son, Roy and Cynthia “Cym” Winiecke, Freeland; five grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Burback, Joshua (Melissa Hamilton) Winiecke, Erin (Ryan) Kuzenko, Zachariah Winiecke, Alexandra Winiecke; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara (Al) Myczkowiak; a sister-in-law, Jan Harris; many nieces and nephews. Gwendolyn was preceded in death by one son, Dale Winiecke, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor Jeff Ralph will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
