Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at New Hope Valley Assisted Living. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late David and Gina (Dolfi) Valdiserri, Jeanie was born on July 27, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Ed Thompson on August 18, 1951. He predeceased her on March 17, 1980. Jeanie worked in childcare, Wiechmann’s and Jacobson’s Department Stores.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Carol) Thompson, Mark (Diane) Thompson, Thomas (Linda) Thompson and Gina (Jody) Burke; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Jeanie was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Thomas Warnemuende; her siblings, Bart Valdiserri, David Valdiserri and Irene (Henry) Koski; her sister-in-law, Peggy Coscarelli.
Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or a charity of their choice.
