Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all, passed away peacefully at home, gained his wings and went to Jesus, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Age 87 years. The son of the late Gene and Harriet (Burgoyne) Archangeli, Gene was born January 23, 1935 in Carrollton, Michigan. He married Kathleen “Kay” Dudek, his loving wife of 62 years, on February 2, 1957. She predeceased him April 1, 2019. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Gene was employed at Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry as a patternmaker for 38 years retiring in 1997. Gene was a Born Again Christian. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, bowler, golfer, loved Jesus, his church, the bible and being with his family and friends.

Surviving to cherish his memory are one son and two daughters, Michael Archangeli, Saginaw; Roxanne and George Prottenger, Saginaw; Jenny and Kenneth Werth, Saginaw; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his cherished brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pastor Del and Melinda Bedford, Zilwaukee; Frank “Butch” and Kay Dudek, Saginaw; Richard and Pat Dudek, Saginaw; Sue Dudek, Saginaw; several nieces, nephews, special fishing buddies and his church family. Gene was preceded in death by his grandson, Todd Archangeli; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Archangeli; two sisters, Alice York, Kay Birnbaum; one brother Dale Archangeli; and two brothers-in-law, Jimmy and Stanley Dudek.

Private Funeral Service and Committal will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association or Covenant VNA Hospice.
