Obituary

Everette C. Dumas

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his home at the age 71 years. The son of the late Augustus (Gus) and Bessie (Biermaker) Dumas, Everette was born September 30, 1949 in St. Ignace, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Mary Ann Hall, his loving wife of 30 years, on October 12, 1990. She survives him. Everette was employed at Severance Tool Industry for over 46 years. He will be remembered for always being willing to help anyone with any project or task, and his love for spending time with family and friends.


Surviving besides his wife MaryAnn are two sons, Matthew and Vanesa Dumas , Mark Dumas (Karen Leaym); four grandchildren, Katelyn, Madilynn, Maya and Matthew II; three sisters and seven brothers, Anita, Marian, Edna May, Edward, Tom, Jim, Frank, John, Jay and Tony Dumas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Joe Gibbs; many relatives and friends including Huey and Carolyn Wright, Fred Rowan, Rob and Sheila Liebrecht; work family from Severance Tool including Rick, Paul and John; several nieces and nephews. Everette was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Helena and Austin Charles Dumas, one sister, Linda, one brother, Eugene.


Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Rick Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery where military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post #1859 and the U.S. Army. For those that wish to attend the service remotely, please use the following link beginning at 10:55 a.m. on Tuesday https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/97132889. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family.
