Eugene M. “Gene” Krawczak
Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved father, brother and uncle passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. Age 87 years. The son of the late Mike and Marie (Wachowicz) Krawczak, Eugene was born on October 4, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Nancy Fisher on October 12, 1957. She predeceased him on November 16, 2017. Gene proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Verdun, France. After being discharged, he worked for American News Company as a truck driver and stock room clerk. He was in charge of Shipping and Receiving at International Harvester. Gene then went on to work as a machinist or Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad and retired as a Senior Computer Operator from General Motors. Gene helped organize the Saginaw Township Little League Baseball Program in 1963. He spent 44 years as manager, coach, Vice President of Minor, Major and Senior Divisions. The “Gene Krawczak Field” was dedicated to him for his lifelong dedication on June 9, 1990. Gene had a room at Bay Antique Center where he sold stamps and sports memorabilia. He was a Detroit Tiger, Lions and Red Wing fan for many years. Gene enjoyed traveling, going to casinos and attending sports games. He was a devoted member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons, Mark (Kimber) Krawczak, Steven Krawczak, all of Saginaw; two brothers, Robert (Margaret) Krawczak and Tony (Barbara) Krawczak; his sister-in-law, Donna DeFore, Saginaw; several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Honoring Mr. Krawczak’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd. Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw Children’s Zoo. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home.
