Ernest “Ernie” Austin Whiterock

Our beloved father and grandfather passed away suddenly in the early evening hours of Sunday, February 20, 2022 at his residence in Zilwaukee Township. Age 75 years. Ernie was born on October 4, 1946 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to the late Ernest and Doris (Bailey) Whiterock. He was a graduate of Wilmot High School in Wilmot, Wisconsin. Following graduation, Ernie then went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps; After 22 years of service as an aircraft mechanic and recruiter, Ernie retired from the United States Marine Corps. Ernie was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 1859. In his younger years Ernie enjoyed bowling and during retirement he became an avid golfer. Ernie was known to be a professional socializer; No matter where he was or what he was doing he always enjoyed the company of others. In his later years Keno became a favorite pastime. Ernie had his own way of showing deep compassion to his family and friends. Ernie will be missed dearly by all, and his memories will be cherished forever.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Kim (Christopher) Parker-Howard of Oxnard, California and Tina (Steven) Amaral of Zilwaukee, MI; four grandchildren, Lexi Parker, Claudia Howard, James Howard, and Mason Amaral; biological daughter, Patricia Whiterock. Ernie is reunited with his wife, Lucille Whiterock; daughter, Jean Whiterock; parents, Ernest and Doris Whiterock; sister, Sandra Whiterock; and several other relatives and friends.

At the request of Ernie and his family, cremation has taken place, Military Honors will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022 at the VFW Post 1859, 3169 Carrollton Rd, Saginaw, MI 48604. Military Honors will be preformed under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps. and the VFW Post 1859.
