Emma J. Stabek

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Hoyt Nursing Home and Rehab Centre. Age 96 years. The daughter of the late James and Antonia (Scola) Licavoli, Emma was born on March 8, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Leonard Stabek on May 9, 1953. He predeceased her on August 24, 1989. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish- St. Casimir Catholic Church, its altar society and choir, and also League of Catholic Women. Emma was a former member of St. George Catholic Church Senior Citizen Group. She enjoyed traveling and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, Mark (Debra) Stabek, Saginaw Twp.; Paul Stabek, Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dominic Licavoli, Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Sandra Roberts, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by a son, Steven Stabek; six sisters and three brothers, Sr. Grace Licavoli, OP; Lena Licavoli, Elizabeth Licavoli, Josephine Schuster, Rose Grillo, Genevieve Hunkins, Joseph , Samuel, and Philip Licavoli.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish – St. Casimir Catholic Church, 2122 S. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre or Dominican Sisters Retirement Fund.
