Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late Adam and Eva (Reis) Meyer, Elaine was born January 28, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Robert D. Leaman on May 20, 1950. He predeceased her November 26, 2000. Elaine was employed at Lufkin Rule Co. for several years. She was later employed at J.C. Penney for 18 years until her retirement in 1985. Elaine was a member of the Moose Lodge #82. She enjoyed line dancing and going to the casino. Most of all, Elaine loved and was devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are one son and two daughters, Michael Leaman, Saginaw; Julie and Tom Buxman, Saginaw; Linda and Greg Ashbreck, Newport, Michigan; 10 grandchildren, Ryan (Carey) Buxman, Kaylee (Chris) Maze, Scott (Kelly) Knierim, Andrea (Adam) Berthiaume, Kyle Buxman, Gabrielle O’Connor, Gregory (Selena) Ashbreck Jr., Garrett Ashbreck, Ciara (Tyler) Bennett and Nathan Ashbreck; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Violet, Arlo, Winter, Maverick, Kelsey, Preston, Ava and Logan; two sisters, Eva Zazo, Saginaw; Margaret (Rosy) Slomkowski, Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Patricia Meyer; several nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Robert Joseph Meyer and Ann Marie Hillert.
Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Covenant V.N.A. Hospice.
