Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 99 years. Daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Princing) Hartley, Elizabeth was born December 23, 1923 in Flint, Michigan. She was married to Douglas Nichols on January 3, 1942. He predeceased her February 7, 1980. Betty was employed by the Buena Vista Schools in food service for over 30 years retiring in 1984. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. Betty enjoyed cooking and baking especially for residents and staff at Ambassador Arms.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters and one son, Judy Blehm, Bay City; Gary and Diane Nichols, Saginaw Twp.; Deborah and Richard Beadle, Gaylord; six grandchildren, Cheryl and Scott Solinski, Rebecca Kvasnak, Melissa and Peter Khosla, Lindie Vandeberghe, LeAnn Gronda, Sarah Beadle; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Blehm; grandson-in-law, Ken Kvasnak and four brothers and sisters.
Honoring Mrs. Nichols wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Memorial Service will take place at a later date with burial of cremains in Millington Township Cemetery.
