Obituary for Edward S. Yeska

Beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away Saturday January 9, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. Age 80 years. Son of the late Joseph and Anna (Stefanovsky) Yeska, Edward was born February 6, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan . He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of American Legion Post #439. He was employed by Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #85. Edward was a member of St. John Paul II Parish, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and the Carrollton-Zilwaukee Eagles. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving to cherish his memory are one daughter, Catherine Mervyn, Odon, Indiana; two grandchildren, Miranda and Cade Mervyn, Odon, Indiana; his sister, Dorothy Norris, Hemlock; two brothers, James and Louise Yeska, Saginaw Twp.; John and Irene Yeska, Saginaw Twp.; several nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Yeska and a brother-in-law, Jerry Norris.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military Services conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations on number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John Paul II Parish.
