Our beloved wife, mother, busha, sister, and aunt, Dorothy Rose (Batkoski) Kessler, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the late morning hours of Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Toni and Trish House in Williams Township, Michigan. Age 77 years. Dorothy was born on July 13, 1944 in Carrollton, Michigan to the late Edward and Rose (Merlone) Batkoski. Dorothy graduated from St. Andrew’s High School, and then went on to receive a degree in Nursing from Delta College. After 37 years of service as a Pediatric Registered Nurse, Dorothy retired from Covenant HealthCare in 2002. She was honored to be the 1993 winner of the St. Luke's Nursing Excellence Award. On February 19, 1966, inside of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Carrollton, Michigan, Dorothy married the love of her life, Ronald R. “Ron” Kessler, and he survives her. Dorothy had a lifelong love of dancing, reading, and going to the movies; each activity being shared specifically with particular loved ones. Dorothy and Ron enjoyed dancing their winters away in Florida and showing off on the dance floor at other special events. Dorothy was the glue keeping the family close together, always making family and friends feel special with a birthday card or holiday card waiting for them in the mailbox. “They knew their birthday was getting close when they received a card.” With Dorothy’s numerous joys in life, nothing brought her more happiness than the time she was able to spend with her family. Dorothy will be missed dearly by all, and her memories cherished forever.
