Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at Traverse Manor in Traverse City. Age 97 years. Daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Jetzne) Zapf, Dorothy was born May 23, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Harold H. “Buck” Orr on October 19, 1946. He survives her. Dorothy was a dental assistant for 39 years retiring in 1984. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Dorothy enjoyed her collections of spoons, teacups glassware antiques. She also enjoyed traveling, music, singing, dancing and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and wonderful neighbors.
Surviving besides her husband Buck are one daughter, Susan Kay (Robert) Stuedemann; two granddaughters, Kristin Stuedemann and her husband Timothy Zeedyk, Alison (David) Lauters; four great grandchildren, Brian William Zeedyk, Jack Zeedyk, Lily Grace Lauters, and Owen Robert Lauters. Dorothy was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Martha Shefsky, Alma Ahrens and Harold C. Zapf.
Private Funeral Services took place at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Henry Pahlkotter officiated with entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum, Freeland, Michigan. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Peace Lutheran Church.
