Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Healthsource Saginaw. Age 90 years old. Daughter of the late Lester and Elizabeth Trask, Doris was born June 28, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Thomas Nichols, her loving husband of 68 years on September 12, 1953. He predeceased her March 28, 2022. Doris graduated from Saginaw High in 1951 and afterwards attended Bay City Junior college. She then worked as a staff supervisor in the radiology department at Saginaw General Hospital for 25 years. She spent a lot of her time enjoying the outdoors while living at Wilderness Valley in Gaylord, Michigan and Sugar Springs in Gladwin, Michigan. Doris enjoyed a sweet amount of time with her kids and grandkids while taking lots of pictures on her camera of core memories.
Surviving: one daughter, Kimberlee Nichols, Gladwin; two sons, Thomas Nichols Jr., Saginaw; Peter (Susan) Nichols, Saginaw; four grandchildren, Erin (Maxwell) Schmitt, Kalamazoo; Christopher (Kaitlyn) Nichols, Jacksonville, Florida; Curtis (Adrianna) Nichols, Wyoming, Michigan; Hope Nichols, Grand Valley State University; two great grandchildren; Ellerie Nichols, and Harrison Schmitt. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Nichols and one sister, Margaret Weber.
Honoring Mrs. Nichols wishes cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
