Donald “Fuzzy” Schollaert
Saginaw, Michigan
Loving father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Campus. Age 83 years. The son of the late Joseph Schollaert and Ruth (Kramer) Mills, Don was born on April 23, 1939 in Shiawassee County, Michigan. Don was formerly married to Patricia (LaLonde) Parkinson. He grew up on the family farm and loved the outdoors. In his younger days, Don enjoyed deer hunting. As he grew older, and unable to hunt, it wouldn’t be uncommon for Don to pull the car over and watch the deer in random places on his journey. He, alongside his sons Bruce and Bill, worked in the masonry trade for many years in Florida. Don was a lover of WWE and antique cars and was very proud to own a 1964 Rambler. Don’s everlasting legacy will be of his generosity, his warm friendly heart and his humor.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Kimberly Schollaert, Saginaw; Bruce (Rose Tripp) Schollaert, Walkerton, Indiana; Ruth Dennis, Flint; Sheila Eichhorn, Ithaca; Bill Schollaert, Indiana; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; his siblings, Eugene (Janet) Schollaert, Lee (Carol) Schollaert, Sharon Bush; his father, Kenneth Mills; many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his siblings, Al, Bruce, Kenneth.
Honoring the wishes of the family cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Don’s life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor Edward Jackson will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family.
