Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at his home. Age 90 years. The son of the late Sydney and Ella (Hayward) Weathers, Don was born on May 24, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Ruth Ann Gwiazdowski on July 6, 1957. She survives him. Don proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War Era and received three Bronze Stars. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Don was a paint salesman for his entire professional career. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, boating and was an avid sportsman especially baseball.
Surviving besides his wife Ruth Ann are four sons, Michael (Patty) Weathers, Jacksonville, Florida; Lawrence Weathers, Saginaw; Thomas Weathers, Saginaw; Mark Weathers, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by three siblings.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center.
