Saginaw Twp., Michigan.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 4, 2022 at his home. Age 69 years. Son of the late Robert and Rosemary (Premo) Daugherty, Dennis was born January 11, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was married to Susan A. Owens, his loving wife of 48 years, on December 13, 1974. She survives him. Dennis was employed at General Motors from 1976 to 2016. Dennis was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, its’ Choir and member of Knights of Columbus Council # 4232. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing, riding his bike, working in his yard, watching U of M Football and attending his grandchildren’s functions at Nouvel. Dennis especially loved spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife Susan are two daughters, Sarah (Louie) Rosas, Vanessa Daugherty; four grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan (Tara Bruske), Camille and Taylor; two brothers, Charles (Cheri) Stack, and Kevin Daugherty; and a sister-in-law, Lisa (Jeff) Youmans. Dennis was preceded in death by a sister Barbara; a brother Ray, a sister-in-law Mary and his golden retrievers, Sadie and Emma.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Honoring Mr. Daugherty’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.
