Obituary for Delphine A. Rokita

Delphine A. Rokita,
Saginaw, Michigan.

Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 94 years. Daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Hoffman) Gorski, Delphine was born November 13, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Alphonse C. Rokita on October 23, 1948. He predeceased her October 8, 2006. Delphine was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and League of Catholic Women. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, puzzles and especially her grandchildren.

Surviving to cherish her memory are one son and two daughters, Mark Rokita, Catherine and Steve Strongrich, Janice and Joseph Spatz, all of Saginaw; three grandchildren, Kendell and Tom Smith, Dewitt; Dr. Andrew Strongrich and his special friend Ariel “Arly” Black, West Lafayette, Indiana; Sarah and Dave VanEpps, Freeland; four great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Smith, Camille Smith, Jack Smith, Samuel VanEpps; one sister, Maxine “Honey” Owen, Boyne City; and two sisters-in-law, Theodora “Teddy” Sullivan, Geraldine “Gerry” LeFevre, of Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Delphine was preceded in death by two sons, David and Gary Rokita, three brothers and four sisters. A special thanks to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Care Team Hospice for the special care given to Delphine and her family.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish or the Alzheimer's Association.
