David L. Heath,
Saginaw, Michigan.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2022. Age 84 years. He was the son of the late Clayton and Luva (Hodges) Heath, born January 11, 1938, in Jackson Michigan. He was married for 63 years to his loving wife JoAnn (Colasacco) and together they raised four children. He was preceded in death by his three brothers: Bernard, Carl, and Clarence Heath. His family, extended family, friends, and relatives were a central source of light for him throughout his life.
David graduated from Michigan State University and cheered for the Spartans whenever he had the opportunity. He retired from Detroit Ball Bearing in 2002. He was proud of his Catholic faith and a charter member of St. Thomas Aquinas church where he sang in the choir and cantered. He was known for his love of music and his beautiful singing voice; performing with the Saginaw Choral Society for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, traveling, watching sports, playing cards, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn, his son Michael (Kathy) Heath of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; three daughters, Carol O’Neill of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Nancy (Steven) Kwaiser of Saginaw, Michigan, and Suzanne (John) Shorey of Galesburg, Michigan. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Megan (Brad) Witte, Sara (Stephen) Sian, Lauren Heath (Hans Dalton), Abbie Heath, Daniel O’Neill, and Jacob Shorey; and two great grandchildren, Sadie and Ava.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with entombment in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.
