Obituary for Christopher John “Chris” Boes

Boes, Christopher John “Chris”
“The Life of the Party”
Thomas Township, Michigan

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Christopher John “Chris” Boes, passed away suddenly of natural causes in the evening hours of Sunday, May 8, 2022 at his residence in Thomas Township, Michigan. Age 53 years. Chris was born on October 11, 1968 in East Grand Rapids, Michigan to his father Henry Lee and his late mother Margaret L. (Lamar) Boes. He was a 1986 graduate of Comstock Park High School. Chris furthered his education by earning an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration from Grand Rapids Community College. Chris served on the Saginaw Police force for many years but his retirement from the department did not retire his service to those he loved. Chris was a longtime member and leader in the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #105. Following his time with the City, Chris began working Corporate Security for Consumers Energy; he was currently employed there before his sudden passing. To have known Chris was to be truly loved by him. If Chris wasn’t camping, golfing, bowling, hunting, or playing poker, he was mowing his perfectly manicured lawn. You could also find him in his favorite chair watching NASCAR with his best friend, Captain, by his side. With Chris’s numerous joys in life, nothing brought Chris more enjoyment than the time and memories he was able to make with his family and friends. Chris will be missed dearly by all, and his memories cherished forever.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Patricia A. “Trish” Boes; children, two daughters, Rachel Aviles and Rebecca (Brett) Clark; his grandchildren, Talina Layton, Kyla Martin, Maya Martin, and Isaiah Martin; father, Henry Lee Boes; sister, Alisha Kenyon; mother-in-law, Joan McCullagh; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Jo and Dale Roberts, Wayne and Kalyn Marx, Fran and Tom Zuzula, Jackie and Dave Lapetina; nieces and nephews, Andrew (Sam), Justin (Taylor), Kendra, Jake, Abbey, Aaron, Matthew, Greg, Brian, Porter, Josie, Dominick, Seth, Ethan, Rylee, Jordyn, Harper, and Wren; numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Chris is happily reunited with his mother, Margaret L. (Lamer) Boes; sister, Jacqueline Hornbrook; father-in-law, Donald McCullagh; infant brother-in-law, Andrew Marx; and great-niece Hailey.

At the request of Chris and his family, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Chris’s Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, MI 48603 (Between McCarty and Shattuck Rd.). Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Ralph. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Honoring Chris’s wish; the gift of life will be given to numerous individuals through his request for organ and tissue donation. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the “Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #105”. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, www.snowfuneralhome.net
