Obituary for Charlotte M. Niederquell

Charlotte M. Niederquell
Freeland, Michigan

Charlotte Mary Niederquell was born July 10, 1929 to Andrew and Irene (Block) Kristalyn of Saginaw, Michigan. She peacefully passed away at her home on November 11, 2022. Charlotte graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1947 and kept in touch with her friends until this day. Following high school, she moved to San Leandro, California where she married Herman “Bud” Bell. They had two children Michael (Robin) Niederquell and Kathlyn (Bob McDonald). Bud passed away in 1954. After moving back to Saginaw, she married her high school sweetheart, Oswald “Ossie” Niederquell in 1955. After adopting Mike and Kathy, they had two sons Bradley (Leslie) Niederquell and Mark Niederquell. They resided in Saginaw until moving to Troy in 1968. Charlotte continued her career in banking and sang in the church choir. After retiring in 1987, Charlotte and Ossie moved to Interlochen to enjoy lake living and finally to Freeland in 1995. Sadly, Ossie passed away in 1998. In 2000, Charlotte met Dr. John (Jack) Walsh and were companions until his passing. For the past 12 years, Harold Diener and Charlotte were loving companions until her passing. They had known each other since 7th grade. Charlotte had many interests, including golfing, fishing, reading, singing, crosswords, playing video games, and more. Since she was a child, she dearly loved vacationing on Long Lake, Traverse City and continued going there throughout her life. She loved animals, especially her collies. Charlotte always loved giving parties and decorating for every holiday. She was an incredible cook and baker, from which everyone benefited. Charlotte would light up a room with her smile and humor.

Her biggest love was her grandchildren, Hilary, Jillian, Mike, Derek, Carly, Hayley, Autum, Riley, and Rio, and great-grandchildren John, Scotlyn, Lauren, Beau, Harper, Isla, Teagen, Kira, Jason, and Vivian. She is predeceased by her sisters, Kathlyn June (Kundinger), Betty (Bank), Phyllis (Mueller), Shirley (Kern) and brother, Andrew Kristalyn.
