Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Age 98 years. Son of the late John and Henriette (LaBerge) McInerney, Charles was born June 15, 1922 in Alpena, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was recipient of the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart. Charles married Marjorie Kettelhohn, on April 17, 1948. She predeceased him February 6, 2011. Charles was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption Parish.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Thomas (Linda) McInerney, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; a daughter- in-law, Gay McInerney, Bay City, Michigan. Charles also had his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sean (Tammy) McInerney, Linwood; Patrick McInerney and significant other, Ali Provow and daughter Abigail McInerney, Pinconning; Steven (Megan) McInerney and children,McKenna and Noah Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Kristine (Roy) Darling, and sons, Mac, Malcolm and Miles Darling Moorseville, North Carolina.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie; his son Tim McInerney and 10 brothers and sister.

Public Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). A Private Family Service will take place after and Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Private burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption Parish, CAN Council or charity of your choice.
