Loving mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at New Hope Assisted Living. Age 100 years. Daughter of the late Gregorio and Petra (Lopez) Garcia, Celia was born January 4, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas. She was married to Carlos Trevino, Sr. on June 19, 1948. He predeceased her November 14, 2021. Celia was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a long time parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed having a houseful of family on Sunday afternoons, gardening and garage sales.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons and one daughter, Carlos (Charlene) Trevino Jr., Raul Trevino, Eva (Bill) Roberts; her daughter-in-law, Wendy Trevino; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vicky Vela; a sister-in-law, Maria Cantu; several nieces and nephews. Celia was preceded in death by three children, Maria Moore, Jose Trevino, and Rene Trevino; two sisters and one brother.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday April 22, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Thai Nguyen will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Cardinal Hospice.
