Caroline A. “Carol” Fisher,
Saginaw, Michigan.
Beloved child of God, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend gave up her spirit today, Saturday, May 20, 2023, to return home to her Creator. She was 90 years. She was born, Caroline Ann Powell, on February 27, 1933 in Columbus, OH. Carol is preceded in death by her husband Max Clay Fisher of Frederick, MD. They were blessed with 56 years of marriage and four children. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Earl and Frances (Rhem) Powell; both of Springfield, Oh. She is survived by her sister, Donna (Powell) Grimes of Gaylord, MI; daughter, Cheryl Fisher Schaefer of Carrollton, MI; son, Mark Allen Fisher and his wife Meleah Mariani of Ludington, MI; her son, Craig Steven Fisher and his wife Carol (Rogoza) Fisher, of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Michelle (Fisher) Kline and her husband Richard Kline of San Jose, CA.; surviving grandchildren are Brandon Fisher and partner Ronda Armstrong of Antioch, TN; Laura (Fisher) Gleis and her husband Anthony Gleis of San Diego, CA; Max Schaefer of Chicago, IL; Kaitlyn Fisher of Roanoke, VA; Stephanie Fisher of Washington DC; and Ryan Fisher of Phoenix, AZ.; surviving great-grandchildren are Benjamin (Fisher) Armstrong of Antioch, TN and Ellie Caroline Gleis of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren. Carol was proud to be an aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt to her extended family on both the Powell and Fisher sides of the family. Mrs. Fisher was predeceased by her niece, Mandy (Grimes) Cron whose children and grandchildren were a source of joy for her. To the many extended family members and friends not named, the family extends their love and sincere appreciation for their love and support shown to Caroline over the years. She cherished her relationships with each including long term friends at First Congregational Church where she attended faithfully since moving to Saginaw. Carol was active in her community. She served as the Secretary of the Carrollton School Board from 1970 to 1981. She also served on the Juvenile Court Citizens Advisory Council from 1984 to 1991. Likewise, she served with the Saginaw County Department of Public Health as a volunteer from 1992 to 2002. Her most beloved service was with delivering Meals on Wheels for nearly 40 years.
A Funeral Service will take place 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Kareem Bowen will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Fisher’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in honor of Caroline be given to the YMCA Camp Scholarship, the Carrollton High School Max Fisher Scholarship Fund or your local Meals on Wheels. Caroline will be interred with her husband Max at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony.
