Beloved father, son, brother and uncle passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Covenant Emergency Care Center. Age 53 years. The son of W.A. and Pat (Metiva) Light, Brett was born on May 29, 1969. Brett was a 1987 graduate of Nouvel High School. He then went on to Delta College and Michigan State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Most recently, Brett was Vice-President of Compliance for Jolt Credit Union. He was an Eagle Scout, avid Star Wars fan and enjoyed MSU sports and Redwings Hockey. His greatest joy was spending time with his daughters.
Surviving are his two daughters, Faith and Noelle and their mother, Christa, Ohio; his parents, Walt and Pat Light, Saginaw; his two brothers, Eric (Holly) Light, Freeland; Shawn Light, Grand Blanc; his niece and nephew, Bella and Alexander “A.J.”; his beloved canine companion, Ellie May.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Family and friends will share memories at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family.
