Beloved sister and aunt passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Samaritas Senior Living. Age 83 years. The daughter of the late William and Theresa (Thom) Coty, Beverly was born on April 22, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan. Beverly attended St. Mary’s School. She married Robert J. Ackerman, Sr. on February 24, 1978. He predeceased her on January 19, 2007. Beverly was employed for Covenant Medical Center as an LPN for 31 years retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and served as a sacristan for many years. She was also a member of American Legion Post #439 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary.


Surviving are her step-children, Deb Ackerman, Marty Ackerman and Robert Ackerman Jr., eight grandchildren including two special grandsons, Corey and Kyle Ackerman; three great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marjorie Jerome, Marilyn delaOsa, Jim Coty, Ed (Joy) Coty, Judy Christ, Helen Weiss (Terry Marcoux), Tom (Edith) Glaza and Barb (Bruce) Athenat; many nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her siblings, Phyllis Baker, Shirley Meibeyer, Arlene Holtman, Janet Doepker, Bob Coty, Joe Glaza and Mary Lipar; 10 brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.


The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Samaritas Senior Living for their loving and compassionate care given to Beverly.


Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Honoring Beverly’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Right to Life of Saginaw or ProMedica Hospice.
