Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Bay Valley House in Bay City. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late Adolph and Lillie (Moore) Gehrcke, Betty was born on October 22, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married John “Russ” Doyle on February 3, 1951. He predeceased her on February 17, 2021. Betty was a member of New Heart United Methodist Church (formerly West Michigan United Methodist Church). She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, cooking, fishing, hunting and especially caring for others.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters, John (Marcia) Doyle Jr., Saginaw; Cindy (Kerry) Kuznicki, Saginaw; Steven (Ann) Doyle, West Branch and Debbie (Alan) Rood, Saginaw; 11 grandchildren, John Doyle III, Justin (Stephanie) Doyle, Amy Doyle, Jason Soltis, Brad (Candace) Kuznicki, Bryan Kuznicki, Katie (Aaron) Onweller, Michael Doyle, Andrew (Kristina) Doyle, Jeremy (Kayleigh) Rood and Alec Rood; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille (Vern) Dubay and Lilly May Reimers. Betty was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles (Maxine) Gehrcke and Adolph (Lila) Gehrcke; brother-in-law, Ron Reimers.
Funeral Service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at New Heart United Methodist Church, 1802 W. Michigan Ave. Pastor Melene Wilsey will officiate with interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Right to Life, New Heart United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
