Betty Lou Marie Michael,
Carrollton, Michigan.
Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 98 years. Daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Socier) Osmond, Betty Lou was born May 19, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Leslie J. Michael on November 10, 1945. He predeceased her May 13, 1985. Betty Lou worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII. She was employed at Wiechmann’s for 63 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Betty Lou enjoyed puzzles, feeding birds and squirrels and was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan. She had a love for country music and dancing and especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, Rick and Diane Michael, Saginaw; Dean and Tammy Michael, Carrollton; one daughter-in-law, Jane Michael, Wayland, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Gary Jr., Dawn, Christopher (Jessica), Angela (Kyle) , Darcie, Jamie (Noe) and Katie (Maureen); two step-granddaughters, Ronda and Clover (Chad) ; 11 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, who fondly called her Aunt Bobbie. Betty Lou was preceded in death by one son, Gary Michael; one grandson, Jeffrey Bennett; one grandson-in-law, Danny Brenner; two sisters, Loretta Pappas and Shirley Wotchko.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss, Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Michael Korte will officiate with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
