Bernard “Bernie” J. Maday
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Plainview Assisted Living in Auburn, Michigan at the age of 86. Son of the late Joseph and Mary (Skrocki) Maday, Bernard was born April 21, 1935, in Munger, Michigan. He married Helena Anna Quaderer, his loving wife of 52 years, on February 4, 1956. She predeceased him November 7, 2008. Bernie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his time in the Army, he attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. He went on to receive his Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) designation from the National Kitchen and Bath Association and was an award-winning kitchen and bath designer for over 40 years. In his spare time and retirement, he was an avid golfer and could often be found golfing 18 plus holes at his favorite golf course, Valley View.
Surviving to cherish his memory are two sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Mitchell and Sally Maday, Eileen Maday and her husband Leon Wozniak, Donald and Ellen Maday; six grandchildren, Ryan (Tabatha), Matthew, Catherine, Savannah, Samuel, and Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Brayden; two brothers, Floyd and Dolores Maday, Thomas and Jane Maday; a special friend Alice Fuller; several nieces and nephews. Bernie was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Maday and two brothers, Edward and Donald Maday.
Honoring Mr. Maday’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place 12:00 noon Saturday, February 19, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Jeffrey Koperski Ph.D. will officiate with Military Services conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
