Becky Essex

Beloved sister and aunt passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. Age 59 years. The daughter of the late Gerald and Bonnielou (Bolf) Essex, Becky was born June 23, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan. Becky was employed at the bakery and deli at Kroger for over 20 years, later as a display artist at K-Mart and Driveline Solutions. She was a devoted follower of the Elvis tribute artist, Leo Elvis Days, and enjoyed camping, bingo, casino trips, and family gatherings. She also loved and adored children and caring for animals. Becky cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as “Aunt Becky”. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Becky will be remembered for her caring and giving heart, generous spirit, beautiful green eyes and infectious smile. She lived life to the fullest knowing it is much too short. Becky’s presence in our lives will be sorely missed. When you think of Becky, celebrate the good memories you have of her!

Becky was loyal to her family and friends. Surviving are two brothers and one sister, Gerald and JoAnn Essex, Michael and Rona Essex and Kelley Lambert; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Ross, Austin (Bethany) La Porte, Joshua Essex, Misty Mazurowski, Kera (Wayne) McMann, Alicia (Jerry) Reardon, Melissa (Benjamin) Werth, Michelle Essex and Michael Kay Essex; three aunts, Tammy Bolf, Renee Bolf and Jeannie (Pete) Tenney; also surviving are many dear friends including the Dembinsky family and other relatives, especially Brian Bolf. Becky was preceded in death by aunts, Linda Lore, Arlene Neumann, Marie Decker and John Bolf.

Becky’s family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks for sympathy, love and support you have extended to our family during this time of loss.

Honoring Becky’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Becky’s and Bonnielou's life will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Blumfield Township Hall in Reese, Michigan from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will be gathering to share some of our favorite memories and stories to laugh, to cry, and remember a wonderful person who will be greatly missed.
