Loving mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 surrounded by her family. Age 85 years. Daughter of the late Maurice and Elizabeth (Quimby) Nihan, Barbara was born July 16, 1935 in Littleton, New Hampshire. She was married to Carl V. Buford. He predeceased her in 1988. Barbara was employed by the State of Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency as an insurance examiner for 50 years. She attended Glory House International Ministries in Saginaw. Barbara enjoyed exercising, walking by the river, coffee with her friends, traveling, watering flowers and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are one daughter, Carla Burns, Saginaw; two grandsons, Reginald DeCorrien Burns and Christian John Burns both of Saginaw; one niece and two nephews, Carol LaFlamme, Oliver LaFlamme Sr., Maurice LaFlamme and their families. Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie LaFlamme.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Glory House International Ministries, 3660 Hermansau, Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Richard Sayad will officiate with private burial in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan. Friends may visit at the church, where the family will be present on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
