Obituary for Anna Adragna Provenzano

Anna Adragna Provenzano,
Saginaw Twp., Michigan.
Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully Friday, January 7, 2022 at New Hope Valley Assisted Living surrounded by her family. Age 91 years. Daughter of the late Vincenzo and Giovanna Adragna, Anna was born May 20, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. She was married to Anthony “Tony” Provenzano, her loving husband of 63 years, on June 12, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. He predeceased her February 21, 2013. Anna was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, League of Catholic Women, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary and Sons of Italy. Anna enjoyed reading, cooking Italian dinners and most of all spending time with her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are one son, two daughters and their spouses, Jack J. and Jenean Provenzano, Saginaw Township; Rose and Ben Scherschel, Bedford, Indiana; JoAnn and Steve Dunn, Saginaw Township; five grandchildren, Dr. Matthew (Shana) Provenzano, Katie Ann (Matt) Engelhardt, Anthony (Emily) Provenzano, Ana Scherschel and Ben (Kayla)Scherschel Jr; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Guastella, Detroit; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends especially Pat Schullo and Dr. and Mrs. Larry Kelly. Anna was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Croce and Mamie Adamo. The family would like to thank the staff at New Hope Valley Assisted Living for their compassionate care of their mother.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.
